Blog Tour : Andora’s Folly + Author Interview!

\blogtour.png

Hey y’all! I am back with another blog tour. Abigayle is about to be publishing her new book Andore’s Folly and I am so excited about it! I recently got a paperback copy of her other book Martin Hospitality, and it was amazing! Abigayle is a very talented author, and if this book is half as good as her other one, everyone will be in for a treat! Now, let’s get into the post!

Andora's Folly Cover 7

SYNOPSIS

A Pandora’s Box retelling

Andora is a beautiful young woman with insatiable curiosity. Raised in splendor, she is spoiled by her privileged life. When a love letter is slid under her door, her life takes a drastically unromantic turn. Nothing makes sense—her arranged marriage, the gifts her parents bestow on her wedding day, or her new husband’s temperament.

As Andora begins to unravel the mysteries around her, she ignites a chain of events that have the power to sabotage her entire village forever. Only her new-found wisdom as a desperate peasant’s wife can save her from her folly.

authorheadshotAbigayle has been a writer ever since her mother taught her how to hold a pencil. However, she devoted more time to reading words with her green eyes than writing them with her left hand. Inspired by a crazy dream at the age of seventeen, she set off on a journey to self-publish her first novel, Martin Hospitality. Since then, Abigayle has devoted herself to sharing what she has learned through the mediums of freelance editing, and her blog theleft-handedytpist.blogspot.com … when period drama films are not calling more loudly. None of her successes would be possible without the support of her Savior, large family, and online community.

It is now time for the author interview! I loved getting to interview her, and I hope that her answers are helpful to any writers out there!

1. When did you first realize you wanted to be a writer?

I’ve written since I was about 6 or so. I guess I’ve enjoyed writing ever since I could write. I always hoped I could publish something one day, but I didn’t begin “seriously” writing until age 16.
2. Where do you get your information or ideas for your books?

My inspiration and ideas are often initiated by a dream or something of the sort. I develop the plot from there, but lots of my ideas come as I start writing. Things like Pinterest can be very helpful if I’m looking for something more aesthetic to add to the book.

3. If you could tell your younger writing self anything, what would it be?

Hard question! Probably to think about the full picture of every story–to treat them all as a potential completed work instead of just writing the little bits that pop into my head. Then I might have made progress sooner.
4. What period of your life do you find you write about the most often (example: child, teenager, young adult)?

It depends on the character’s age, as I take lots of bits from my own life. Mostly childhood, I guess, as my characters are usually quite different from me by the time they reach my age.

5. How long, on average, does it take you to write a book?

The actual process of writing seems to take me about a year. Sometimes I spend several months on development before that. All in all, 16 months maybe? It depends on the length of the book I’m working as well. ; )
