John 1:1

First of all, I told my post titles too late, so they’re mixed up. Today is John 1:1, and the 23rd is Mary.

Anways, a few weeks ago one of my middle school youth leaders did an awesome teaching that I loved. His was thirty or so minutes, so mine won’t be as good, but I’ll try. 🙂

So here’s John 1:1

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

John 1:1, KJV

Read that again. In Greek, the word Word is logos. It is used over 3oo hundred times in the Bible. Now, here’s something cool, in the verse above, Logos was capitalized like so. Out of the 300 times in the Bible, the word logos is capitalized less then ten times, so it must mean something.

And, the word logos can be translated into Jesus. So put it together…

In the beginning was Jesus, and Jesus was with God, and Jesus was God.

Now isn’t that cool? I could go into much deeper detail, but then it’d take hours to read this post, and I won’t do that to you.

(But if you did want to read more in depth, here’s a post about that: John 1:1)

Have a great day!!
